I was told by one of Antero Energy guys that there is a new well on the border of Noble, Monroe Co. line that is the best so far in Ohio. Can anyone tell me what the well name is. He said it was a monster.

Is it the Graves?    I have heard the checks are beginning to arrive on that one and it is near the Monroe/Noble border.

It depends if it's ON the border, or CLOSE to the border.  If ON, it's probably the GRAVES, since the SIBERIANS aren't completed yet, and the GRAVES is the only new well ON the border.  There is lots of Antero action CLOSE to the border, both in Noble and in Monroe, it just depends on what the guy meant by "on".  It could be the KAHRIG which is just off the border in Noble and was just completed (no public results available).  Close by to both is the older killer GARY unit (on the N/M line), so what the Antero guy said is probably true; it's the right neighborhood.  As you move west from the N/M county line, the liquids increase by ~3-5% per mile and the gas decreases slightly, so my bet is the GRAVES or the KAHRIG.

Yes , I think it may be the Graves. My friend said he has a buddy there that got a very nice check for only 20 acres and a 12.5 net lease. Like $750 acre at $50 oil, not to bad. Its sister well is the Krig I think.

$750 an acre over what period of time though?  Just curious.

Also, it could be a lot of different wells if it is just defined as "on the border."  There are wells on the border that runs North/South and also wells on the border that runs East/West.  Just a thought!

Thanks all.

All the Antero Utica wells so far run NW to SE; I haven't seen any that run N-S or E-W.  Something to do with intersecting the natural fractures in the shale at a 90 degree angle.

I'm talking about the county border, not direction of the wells.  There are some wells that intersect the N/S county line, and there are some wells that intersect the E/W county line.  But yes, all of the wells definitely run in those directions to intersect the fractures.

You are absolutely right.  My mistake.  Yes, it could be Belmont or Guernsey.  I''m more familiar with the Noble Monroe wells.   I'll take a look at the ODNR plats.

No problem.  All I am saying is that Monroe County shares both a (small) northern border and a western border with Noble County when you are looking at the northwest corner of it.  And there are wells that intersect both of those borders coming out of/going into Seneca Township, Monroe County.

I am in the Graves unit and received my first check about 2 weeks ago. I also have a 12.5 net lease. It was more than I expected for my acres in there. The $750 an acres sound about right. Less about 9% for expenses. Im getting paid for 4 laterals.  And Im also in the KAHRIG unit also. But no check for it has come yet. And yes It was paid at a time when oil and gas were low in Dec, Jan. and Feb. the $50 range.. Im cant wait to see my checks at $60 0il. FRACK ON !!!!  :- ]   $$

Congrats!  Wishing you many good royalty checks in the future.

Do you know/mind sharing how many days worth of production that was for?  Not sure if they issue these checks quarterly, monthly, etc. and then also not sure if they indicate if the well was producing for the whole payment period or only part.  Thanks.

It looks to be about 71 days of production. I got paid on 37 acres in the Graves . But I also have 7 more in the KHIRIG that I have not received a check for.  That should also be a good one

Hello Anthony; I sent you a few private emails concerning the GRAVES.  Let me know what you think.
