A new operator decided to try their hand at drilling a well in the Utica shale play here in Ohio.
The well is Caywood A 1H, Washington County, Fearing Township.

Protege drilled a few wells before (Eisenbarth and Dangel). This is just another version of the same company.
Notice this is Protégé III (three) so this is their third go round. And strange their Eisenbarth pad had no berm around it; Statoil bought both the Eisenbarth and Dangel. Statoil continued to operate the Eisenbarth pad without a berm; had that fracking fire last July on the Eisenbarth, lots of water ran off into Sunfish Creek. After the fact Statoil has built a berm around the pad.
Funniest thing ODNR has inspectors who must have been blind as a bat not to notice there was no berm on that pad. And I don't know if the Dangel well has a berm. Even shallow well pads have berms.
