As I am sure you all know, NY will enact a ban on "fracking". The purported reason was concern about the "possible" health effects associated with "fracking. I have emphasized possible because those concerans are all "Chicken Little" in nature.

First; I hope all f us here know this is all political. The Governor of NY has his sights set on the White House in the future. Second; he is a liberal Democrat and much of the funding for such liberals comes from the environmental left.

So, there is no scientific basis for this ban. It's all political.

In fact there is overwhelming evidence that shale development which employs "fracking" does not pose a health risk to the public. The shale deposits in Texas have been developed the most and longest in the U.S.

Along with that development has come several studies examining the possible affect on the health of the public. Those studies have have found that shale development and fracking do not pose a health rsik to the public.

All the politicians in NY had to do was review the studies in Texas. There is no reason to place shale development on hold waiting for frivolous studies.

Beware, this is the new mantra for the environmental left with regard to shale development. We have heard it hear in Ohio, and I've heard it in PA and WV. The environmental left has lost on every other argument it has posed in it's effort to prevent shale development. Prepare for an all out war from them based on this.
