Penn State Extension "Conventional" - "Unconventional" Lease workshop: PS Beaver Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013

The question that this Penn State Extension natural gas workshop addresses is, “Do Landowners Under “Conventional” Lease Have Options?”

Many landowners in western Pennsylvania may have their property leased for the purposes of “conventional” gas production, but may be approached to have their lease amended in order to meet unit size standards or other conditions of “unconventional” shale gas production. This Workshop is intended to help landowners under lease to understand what their options might be if shale gas production is going to occur.

Attorney Kris Vanderman will join us to help in this discussion and will be ready to answer questions. let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

Our farm in western Pennsylvania is held by production buy old wells that produce very little.

The driller wants us to sign a modification to the seventy year old lease allowing them to mix our acreage with a unlimited number of other people they call contiguous or non-contiguous. They want to pay us one dollar. They say that they will not drill a good well on us unless we sign.

I thank Penn State for helping people. Some of us cannot attend any of the Penn State workshops due to health issues or the need to attend to others as a caregiver. I would like to attend, but for me it is impossible.

It seems that the information givven in this talk is exactly what I need to know to understand what i should do. I think that this is important to many others.

Is there any way to obtain the information provided in this workshop when we cannot attend?

Will Penn State put this information on the internet?

Has anyone attended this workshop in the past that would post the important portions?

Will someone who attends this workshop next week please post what they learned that could help?

Sorry, I feel very frustrated not knowing what is going on. You cannot go to the Library to learn this sort of thing.

My family would much appreciate any help.

Sarah

Sarah,

   What county?

oh, darn! I got all excited for a moment, I am visiting Penn State but on the Main Campus (State College, University Park) so it's not here. sounds very interesting, I hope they disseminate the info. Thanks for posting!

If anyone attended the February 13th workshop, or any earlier workshop on this subject, would they please be so kind as to comment on what they might have learned.

I think that there are many who are in situations theat would benefit from the type of information that was discussed. But many people are not in a position that would allow them to attend.

Any information would help. I thank you in advance for any information you can provide.

Sarah
