Anybody want to read between the lines and comment?  My thoughts...The gas is here but committed to the Shell cracker plant?

No one wants to commit to ship unless they guarantee a start date. There are problems with ROW's through Western Ky.

If Williams has a delay what does a producer do with that gas? The producer has made commitments for processing that gas, infrastructure to get that gas to processing plants and the Williams interchange plus millions on each well to get the gas. Than what do you do with gas once it gets there. You are talking Billions of $ at risk.

One of the Big boy's could take the risk, but why? Probably would just end up with profits being Taxed away. Those greedy O&G companies are making too much money. They need to share that money with people who risk going to the grocery store with that EBT card !

Just today Pfizer disclosed it's trying to buy AstraZeneca for $99 Billion and move from U.S. to U.K. My goodness the U.K. has better tax rates than U.S. What the Hell is wrong with this Country?

They invested a lot of grant money to establish favor along the route. In addition, paying the land surveys, archaeological surveys, landsman wages, attorneys legal fees, offices, lobbyist, the landowners that signed up received 10% upfront. The remainder will be paid upon completion.

I don't think they will cut their losses and just walk away.  Rockies Express was built by three companies and recouped their investments for the entire project very quickly. Sounds like they have three years to flip or build. Just my opinion.

There was no small effort or expense put forth to get this pipeline built before KM re-functionalized  their 26" line to liquid service.  Stiff opposition in KY  and a few difficult land acquisition places in Ohio delayed construction beyond 2015.  Once Atex and KM get their pipes filled up, Bluegrass Pipeline will resurface... probably late 2016 or 2017 build.

Williams tried very hard to be the second truck in line to load, but in the end, they came in third.

It was a sad day when the company I work for received the news from Williams Bluegrass, a lot of people had to go home.

Look at the Williams 1st quarter transcript;   several indications that the drilling is headed to the dry gas area and therefore the companies were not signing on to the Blue Grass.   Here is the discussion.  And no the Blue Grass IMO is not totally finished as those right of ways have a three year option, meaning the landowner was paid option money and has committed his property for three years and Blue Grass can exercise that option within the three year timeframe.

After watching C-Span the other day about pipelines and exporting natural gas. The question came up as to why we only approve exporting NG and not oil? The answer was side stepped, they did comment that the Saudi's are watching that very closely, as they are our allies. Maybe they don't want to reduce pricing index. Makes you wonder if the pressure issue in the Utica oil window is political.

Does anyone know what the BTU rating is on the natural gas in PA, W VA, and OH ?

I was told when Rockies was built, the Colorado gas was low BTU and would be mixed with Southwest gas at the Clarrington, OH- HUB to get BTU's up before going to the east coast.

I did't know Texas Eastern was planning to run bi-directional in link above. I always thought back in 2009 when Bantek notified Rockies that the east coast couldn't handle 2.8 BCF per day, due to the new 42' HP Line into NY from Canada, they were planning for exporting. When applications for several LNG Terminals on the east coast were declined back in 2009, that ended my speculation. Just think,if that would have happened, Ukraine and Europe would be getting LNG today. Just my opinion.

...in response to "pipeline from ohio and pa suspended"...I have heard that this "may" have  something to do with the recent announcement that Rex Energy just signed a 20 year Gas Transportation Agreement with Dominion and Texas Gas LLC to use their pipelines to transport natural gas from Butler County, Pa. to the Midwest and Gulf Coast(morningstar4/29,yahoo finance, bloomberg, seeking alpha, bizjournal.com). Part of that agreement is that additional pipelines are to be installed between Pa. and Ohio by 2016. Now, for some unknown reason, there appears to be some legal (political) issues with the previous plans regarding pipelines between pa. and ohio. There appears to be a lack of transparency within the industry to keep the public updated. But when this becomes more than just a discussion here at the university and I have information that I can support with facts, I will share.

This is another reason that pipelines are needed along with the railroads.

What a bunch of F'n clowns.

Marcellus Shale helping to fuel Ontario now also! Frackers/investors being had by futures traders

Canadian Consul General John F. Prato said natural gas from the Marcellus region is playing a big role in Ontario: Just under 30 percent of the natural gas used daily in the province coming from the Marcellus Shale.

The Canadian Consulate General set up a temporary consulate in Pittsburgh April 7-11. On Tuesday, the Consulate General and Southpointe Chamber of Commerce hosted an Energy Innovation Summit as part of the Pop-Up! Canada festivities.

“The reason we’re here is because we are taking what is already a strong relationship and making it stronger for both Canada and the Commonwealth,” he said.

In a panel discussion, John Hotz, vice president of corporate strategy for Nova Chemicals Corp., said shale gas from the Marcellus has had a significant impact on the company’s operations.

Nova is based in Alberta but maintains a strong manufacturing and corporate presence in the Pittsburgh region. It was facing challenges as natural gas liquids in Alberta began to wane while at the same time crude oil prices were rising.

“Then along came this thing called horizontal drilling and fracking,” Hotz said. “But the innovation for Nova came about as we took a step back to think about how to take advantage of the emergence of shale natural gas.”
