"Dozens of Range Resources well sites were recently listed out of compliance with state environmental laws and, in some cases, it took state regulators years to record the violations. The same violation – failure to clean up a site within 9 months of drilling a well – was noted for all 44 sites inspected through an administrative review, according to Department of Environmental Protection records. ... Of the 44 violations, 40 sites were affected in Washington County, and four were found in Allegheny County."

Is this what Range Resources meant by their slogan "Drilling is just the beginning"?

Pretty vague "failure to clean up a site within 9 months of drilling a well". What exactly does that mean? Who judges such a subjective rule? Maybe you (Paul) are the judge? If so, how would you define such a violation?

Hey, Chicken Little,

So what!

This truly is a The Sky Is Falling! warning from you.

I didn't think the industry was regulated!?

Hey! Chicken Little,

You are an hysteric, a true Chicken Little. Screaming about impending doom when there is none.

It's obvious that once again you only read the title of the article and did not bother to read the content.

The following quote from the article is what this is all about:

"The only impact is the presence of a larger well site than what is needed for production, Shader said.

Oil and gas operators typically need a larger area and more equipment to drill and complete a well than they need once a well is in production.

The state's Oil and Gas Act requires an operator to remove certain equipment and reduce the size of their footprint within 9 months of completing a well.

That site restoration wasn't completed by Range and that's why DEP last week sent the company those official Notices of Violation."

This is the environmental disaster that has your panties in a bunch? The well pads are larger than they should be?

Wow! You truly have earned the moniker of Chicken Little. I think your tin foil hat is a little tight.

The Sky Is Falling!  The Sky Is Falling!

It's been a month of bad news for Range Resources, it seems. Here's a news story from early February:

http://powersource.post-gazette.com/powersource/companies/2016/02/0...

Range Resources is laying off 55 employees, including 31 in Western Pennsylvania, the company said today. The Texas-based oil and gas driller will be cutting jobs at its Cecil and Chartiers locations, in addition to other operations.

“Low commodity prices have created a harsh reality that everyone in our industry is facing,” Range’s COO Ray Walker said in a statement. He has used that phrase three times in the past year to accompany layoff notices -- when Range closed its Oklahoma office a year ago, when it announced an 11 percent cut to its workforce in July, and again in November, when Range said it was selling certain assets to EnerVest that would result in some layoffs.

Oil and gas companies have been cutting staff and capital budgets over the past year as commodity prices have tumbled. Range, one of the largest drillers in Pennsylvania, has not been immune to the trend. Its stock closed at $26.99 on Tuesday, roughly half of what it was a year ago.

Large number of lay offs in oil and gas industry. Why doesn't the Government subsidize this industry like they did Solar panels and Windmills?

Reading ya'.

Right on.

Trade agreements with vetted allied countries.

Tariffs and boycotts against others (OPEC / SA / Iran, etc.).

On your bus - get on that one too friend.

Just think of the money the local, state and federal govt. has received from the shale drilling in the USA.The number is huge. They should be helping oil and gas company's any and every way they can.

Yep.

How about subsidy for conversions to Natural Gas (from coal, diesel and gasoline).

That could include private vehicles too.

Clean up the environment and put a huge number of people to work.

Put our blessings to work here at home and not to other flags who may even prove unfriendly / hostile.

It's amazing that our leadership doesn't come up with these ideas.

Seem more concerned about everyone else in the world than we citizens here at home.

Can't understand it at all.

Not subsidizing our own wth our own blessings automatically subsidizes all the others (adversaries and competition).

What's up with that ? ?

What a good guy. Excited because people with families lost their jobs.

Breaking News -------- Government Motors kills 29 people due to ignition key problems, and they just pay a fine!

C'mon, have some perspective Paul.
