Recent Lease in Tioga County

I am purchasing an unleased(expired) property right on the Tioga/Bradford county lines just off Route 549 in Millerton, Pa. Does anyone have info on recent OGM leases in that area?

Just buy it and don't look back. What's the worst thing that could happen - your wife kicks you out. At least you can go live on your new property.

Chris, thanks for the reply. Can you tell me any more that you heard about this specific location? I am new to this... I know there is a well pad right on 549 that is not operating at all.

there is a well just off of 549 that is shut in due to lack of a gathering line.

at least one landowner refused to allow the line and so that one is in limbo.

If the lease has expired, get a release of claim, or whatever they call it. Make sure you have an official paper from the gas co. (sorry for the vague language, sleep deprived!)

Probably the most recent OGM news in that region concerns hopeful outcomes just west  regarding Utica shale.  Look for more about this on the Tioga County board of this forum.

Hope your land is not too close to NY.  But if you're only a couple miles south of the line you should be just fine.
