I was just contacted by a company wanting to do a study across part of our property including drilling holes and using small explosives to find gas. They are offering a very small sum per acre. Has anyone else been contacted by these people. He did mention Chevron, but said he does not represent them directly. Thanks.

The seismic study hopefuly will increase the valus of your land. Hopefully it can speed up the developent of wells in your area. I was paid $5 per foot for a study on my land. Not much money but a well is now planned about 500 feet from my property line. The study shouldn't cause much damage to your land, just the area that the explosive was set off. There are videos on this site of the entire process. I'd recommend you let them do it.
Thank you for your information on allowing this to be done. I hadn't talked to anyone else in my area regarding it. Thanks.
are you under lease with anyone if so do it if not just wait till you are. I wouldn't let them test unless I were leesed to them if there nothing good on the seismic then you will never get lessed just saying
Vicki, if you don't mind saying, which township in Greene County for the seismic study?
Owner, You did mean... $5.00 per Acre ? Right ?
I would tell them to have someone contact you from O&G (Chevron?) before agreeing to anything. See if they are interested in leasing you. Tell them after Seismic you want much better lease terms Bonus+Royalties. Almost all of the risk is removed (faults?) for the O&G company.
It may not even be for a specific O&G company but for seismic company to sell the data.
Hi, Thanks for your input. I am in Wayne Twp. Greene Co.
Be Carefull some people in beaver county did what you are thinkig of doing an when they agreed they were stuck in a lease for 10 years .. again they come in drilled holes an only were paid 12 acre now all them leases are up an they dont want to pay much per acre i would want lease before they did study but thats just me ...good luck

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
