I own approx 90 acres of land in Greenwood NY (Southern Steuben County NY) My property is NOT currently leased. I am looking to sell all of my land with 100% OGM rights transfering or Sell all my land with 50% OGM rights transfering. What is land with rights worth to sell in this area? Is there anyone out there with realistic market value opinions? Thank You!

Quincy,
Dont sell. Currently land is going for 1,800 -2,000 per acre which includes all rights. If NY ever gets off its hands, your land will be worth a great deal more. You potentially have three strata to drill. That would be the Marcellus, Utica and Geneseo. If NY bans HVHF, your land will still be worth 1,500-1,800. The upside is ten times that. Keep the land or just sell to me (not kidding).

There are sucessful Trento Black River wells in Steuben County also. Chesapeake and Talisman have drilled them. Not sure if they are still producing, given the high yield, short life of those wells. If you can hold on to the land another year it could be very benificial to you. Then again I thought the moratorium would have been lifted already.
If you could close quick, I would sell all the land approx 90 acres with 50% OGM rights for $139,000 I would also consider selling just 50% of the OGM rights NO TOP LAND if your offer was good. It is beautiful land with excellent hunting and trout fishing! call/text if interested (570)-439-8025
Probably not worth too much given the ongoing moratorium on fracking in the state of New York! You citizens of New York keep electing these big liberals who all seem to be against fracking. For your sake I hope the moratorium is lifted. If it is the value of your property will skyrocket! IMHO

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
