Does anyone know where to get data on current market prices paid for Utica leases by county in PA? I am particularly interested in Utica rights in Forest, Elk, Clarion, McKean, and Potter counties. Thank you.

Permalink Reply by Buddy on April 19, 2013 at 8:49am Mengliu Lu, You need to speak more clearly and not try to be mysterious. I have acreage in one of these counties but you need to give more inforamtion before I would ever contact you. Such as, What is your company? What advantages do these counties have over others that you are only interested in them? Why are you not interested in other shales, only Utica? And do you really mean you want to PURCHASE the lease or do you want to lease the gas?
Permalink Reply by Mengliu Lu on April 19, 2013 at 9:02am Answers -- the name of my company is OGE. The main advantage is that we are looking at partnership opportunities with operators of shallow wells in those counties, and aside from our interest in Forest wet gas, we feel that the dry gas window in the counties I mentioned hasn't been picked over nearly as much as the Marcellus has. With gas prices ticking up we feel like now may be a good time to expore. We want to lease the rights and drill, potentially with the shallow operator I mentioned. Now some of my own questions -- what is a good ballpark asking price to expect per acre? Can those asking prices be substantied with other, recently signed leases nearby?
Permalink Reply by george m vietze on April 24, 2013 at 1:52am I am a landown in Erie County, Pa. just 4.37 miles from Adameck#1
the first Utica Test well in Erie County. Adameck#1 started drilling on April 15. On April 23 they have drilled 4,200' and found a good supply of natural gas, they expect) to reach the Utica in 24hours. If you are looking for an area not yet picked over this may be it. We own a 270 acre property that has recently been purchased by Nucomer Energy (affiliate of EmKey Energy) who just purchased over 20+ shallow wells
in this area, including our lease. We want the property drilled and would like to see a partner with our leaseholder who will drill. Possible deal
IMO and you can work direct with a gas company and not owners...
no bonus and no front money just whatever works between gas companies.......contact me at 814-464-7800 or gmvietze@aol.com for
details
Can you possibly post a link to your co's (OEG?) webpage - with a profile of who they are & what they do, Mengliu Lu? Thank would be quite helpful for anyone wanting to advance with you. Much obliged. Interesting.

Permalink Reply by Mengliu Lu on April 19, 2013 at 8:34am I work for a small E&P company based in Ontario, Canada. We would consider purchasing existing leases from other lessors, i.e. oil and gas companies, but we would prefer to enter into new leases with landowners who still have Utica rights in the counties mentioned, and would pay per acre plus a royalty as is standard. I am trying to understand the market for said Utica rights, in terms of asking prices per acre and royalties. Is there any data/info. out there that anyone could share?

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
