I recently posted a thread that was a survey question.

It was simple; are you for or against an increase in the severance tax?

The majority of the responses were no.

I forwarded this information to the appropriate legislators in Columbus.

The increase in the severance tax was defeated.

Was our participation a factor ? I believe it was.

Speaking with people in Columbus I was told that there was a deluge of protest letters from landowners to legislators.

These people believe that the protests from landowners turned the tide.

Our pole, and subsequent letter was part of the protest.

It is important for individuals to be involved.
