Is anyone in Beaver Twsp, noble county familiar with these water tanks? Or does any member happen to have these currently on their property? Antero is purposing to put some on my property but wanted to get info from someone who actually has them.

Are you talking about the large, rectangular tanks that look like the trailer portion of a tractor/trailer rig...or tall circular tanks....or the behemoth bolt-together water storage tanks that are maybe ~200 ft in diameter and ~16 ft high? There was a large tank storage area for the rectangular type opposite the Miley well in Seneca Township/Noble when that well was being drilled and for sometime after. You could contact one of the Mileys for information. Is this to be permanent or temporary?
It seems that there was a thread on GMS at one point that discussed this subject. Someone rented a portion of their field to one of the companies for temporary storage of these tanks for a brief period for a certain sum of money, and then the company reclaimed the land and left. You should be getting paid some $ by Antero for the disturbance...and you should be able to stop it if you don't want your land torn up.
Do you happen to know who these people were that had the tanks?
There are several of the tractor trailer type tanks at the barn west of the Rubel pad on 379 in the NW corner of Monroe county.
No, They want to add a impoundment tank that holds the fresh water. They are going to be putting oil wells across the street. I see they are adding more close to me off of yoker valley road, we are trying to get information from other property owners that actually have had this done to them.
he advised us that it was fresh water only
He used an open swimming pool.... and we asked if he would be willing to drink the water from it... we are obviously concerned as to if it was toxic
Amy,
These types of installations are "safe". They hold the fresh water used in hydraulic fracturing.
My questions to you are: How much land do they need ? Can you afford to lose use of the property? What are they offering to pay? What length of time? Reclamation? What type of agreement ?
total 1.8, they want us to come up with a price, he stated for our lifetime, and dont know about the agreement yet, we met with the gentlemen from antero yesterday.
Mark the total pad would be on about 2 acres, but the area they want to install it is our main camping site, we do have other acreage but do to water issues and no shade we would be out our ideal spot. They do not have a set price they want us to come up with a number that is sufficent for our loss. And he basically stated the tanks would be there for our lifetime.
Amy,
That's a tough one.
If you agree to this I believe a yearly rental plus payment of all taxes associated with the development is the only fair arrangement. But how do you give up your camping spot ?
Tough choice.
I'm right there with Chip and Mark. You do not have to do this. You do understand that if you tell Antero you don't want it, they will find another piece of property to put it on, and you can keep your beautiful camp. At least, that has been their M.O. so far when working with landowners when pads are being proposed. "Do you want it"? "no"...."Ok, thanks anyway"...and off they go to the neighbors or down the road.
If however, you want the money, get an oil/gas attorney to look over the agreement and discuss the asking price with him/her. Don't be rushed. It's for the rest of your life. If you need a suggestion for an experienced lawyer, friend request me and I'll give you a very reputable one.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
