well head royalties

I've noticed that after a well is drilled they flame it burning who knows how much gas. This seams to me a waste. I want to know if they pay me my 20% of this gas that they burn. after all it is from  the well head??

M. Bags-

Flared gas volume is seldom measured. It may be estimated, but not measured to the precision required for custody transfer/royalty payment determination.
