Where are most of the oil and gas companies interested in, counties, townships, etc?

I have been wondering where are the counties, townships, etc, that most of the companies wanting, where is the most interest? I have tried looking on the map, but can't seem to figure it out. I read that there were 16 permits issued, 6 of those in Belmont County, how do I find out who was issued the 6 in Belmont County, and where are those wells going? Thanks

Lol, you're essentially asking the answer for what these companies pay their employees for. The only way to have an idea of what the companies are thinking is to follow where they are permitting, leasing and drilling.

The Ohio Dept of Natural Resources has a great search tool that allows you to specify County/Township/Date Range, etc to see all permits issued.

All 6 are by Gulfport in York twp. called the "Charlie" wells
