In Mckean and Potter specifically we currently have 14 companies who have expressed interest in our  holdings.  That's a lot of paperwork, negotiating, etc. to sift through, but we have come so far and CONTINUE to grow as landowners come off lease.  Surprisingly a few thought they had waited to come off lease, when in fact the lease company had dropped them yrs. ago and neglected to send notification.  Request a Letter of Surrender when your lease date is up, just to have it in writing and prove your OGMs are back in your control as of a specific date.  Don't take anything for granted!

Hope to see you @ one  of the meetings ... Shinglehouse Fire Hall on the 18th, or Port Allegany's Moose Lodge on the 19th  6:30PM for both dates.  "Shale Boom, Challenges, and Promises"

Considerable interest has been continually coming in from companies impressed by the acreage (shape files) we were able to showcase @ both NAPE events (Houston and Pittsburgh). Follow-ups and the results will be showcased @ the June meetings:  the 18th @ the Shinglehouse Fire Hall on Puritan Ave  @ 6:30 PM.  Shinglehouse, PA

ALSO:  @ 6:30 PM in Port Allegany, PA ... the Moose Lodge on  JUNE 19th

Janice:

If we aren't able to attend, will you keep us posted on the content of the meetings? I would love to hear more about what is going on?

There is indeed interest in the Group. 100+ contacts were made in Houston by the 10-man CX team, and they have sorting through them ever since.  Meetings will be held on Mar. 12th @ St. Eulalia Parrish Hall in Coudersport.  6 PM for Group members  7 PM for the public  These meetings will be repeated on the 13th @ Smethport's Country Club ... same schedules.

What if anything happened at the N.A.P.E.  meeting in Texas. Haven't seen anyone talking about it.

Pleased to say that in view of two major events, activity for 4-County is "ramping up" just like in a gusher scenario.  1st:  So many leases are coming to an end that folks once again have options ... Key --- A better lease!

2nd:  The N.A.P.E. EVENT mentioned below is right around the corner and holes on our county maps are filling in rapidly.  Everyone's efforts (CX and Landowners alike) are making a positive difference in the progress we have made, esp. since the summer.

Anyone who hasn't been to a recent meeting should be aware that the Group's Contract has been shortened to 6 Mos. w/auto-renew Unless word is rec'd from landowner that it be dropped.

94% of Up-front lease $$$ goes to Landowner, 100% of Royalty $$$ stays in the Owner's hands.

Goals: $3,000 AC, 17% Royalty but we're willing to accept more!  Landowners are not  required to sign the final leasing agreement if it doesn't suit them.  The lease has been in flux as we stay in tune to tech advances that have made drilling and production safer.  This reflects the commitment 4-County Landowners have to "not get caught up in the "back-in-the-day leases" that were signed 20 --- 10 ---  even 5 years ago. Attending meetings, following our news releases, and reading the newsletters, encouraging neighbors to do the same, have all made a tremendous difference in our understanding of the Marcellus/Utica play and how we can make the most of it.

2013 activity for Potter/McKean begins in Texas, thanks to the North American Petroleum Exposition (N.A.P.E.) . It's  a gathering of major players across the gas/oil world  ... the developers and producers of these valuable resources, all focused on buying, selling, and leasing acreage on a big scale.  A lot of hard work has gone into the massing of thousands of acres in the 4-County region (Potter & McKean in PA, and Cattaraugus & Allegany in NY).  While NY is held back from leasing till early spring, it's the visual impact our huge block of land to be leased that will impress the shale "all-stars" wanting access to our resources.

The CX team responsible for giving 4-County this exposure understands what this region has to offer ... its infrastructure, workforce in place, and people who've lived with drilling and tending pipelines for generations.  The success they have in representing us is dependent on many things, but primary is the size of the package ... 4-County acreage.  Leaseable acreage sitting on the sidelines won't do anyone any good. This is a team effort on the public's part ... on CX's part. Anyone who hasn't leased their land yet and is interested in doing so, anyone whose lease expires in the next few months and has had no activity on the land ... all are encouraged to lay it on the line by signing a 6 mos. contract.  No cost to join 4-County.  6% of upfront leasing $$$ to CX   ... 0% of royalty $$$ to CX.   No expenses deducted from owners royalties.  Want your acreage represented in Houston in February?  In the 4-County region or in the fringe counties?Contact jlhanch@nc.rr.com      ( Not available the week of Christmas)

With 4-County including 2 states & obviously 4 counties, keep watch for news sites for your particular county of interest, as well as announcements made here. The Feb. meetings will be held as follows:

FEB. 21  Coudersport, PA  6:30 PM @ Fire Hall off Rte. 6W

FEB. 22  Angelica, NY   6:30 PM @ Grange Hall @ the Historical District on main street

New info will be provided on various aspects of development within the Marcellus/Utica plays in NY/PA.  Also "key" is the new agreement drawn up between Co-exprise (CX-Energy, Inc.) and the 4-County membership ... TAKE  NOTE: CX Royalty % has been dropped completely.  Membership profits 100 % from royalty payments as they come in.  Also, Bonus Payment % due CX has dropped from 8% down to 6%.

The Group's rapid expansion this year has made the above possible, and I wish to thank all of you that recognized what strength in numbers means, and what it has done for us already ... even before we've entered negotiations.
