Anyone know of any companies doing multi-formation leases?

Yes- D&L Energy is currently separating Clinton Sandstone from Utica formation. They are offering two separate leases. They seem to be a vertical well company primarily interested in taking advantage of the oil in Clinton. My guess is they will flip the Utica to Chesapeake or whoever holds the most acreage around you. Chesapeake says they don't like to separate strata but they apparently will. Unfortunately they seem to be the only game in town that is doing any horizontal drilling at this point. I would expect there will be other companies to follow in the near future but much of the county is already held by production from all the vertical wells. Chesapeake is apparently negotiating directly with those companies to get their drilling units.

It seems like a good idea to separate strata since there are several undeveloped or unknown strata that could be negotiated if they come into play in the future. This is a fairly new practice so don't be suprized if the companies bulk at it.

PAC develepment is too offer a muti formation lease. They are producers of the clinton, and will broker the utica to the big players. They are offering good up front money
