if i'm not mistaken you need a minimum of 5-10 acres to sign up unless your pooled with other acreages.

no one has been offering up any leases or money in Dorset as far as i know.

As infrastructure moves north, there wont be any minimum acreage requirements leasing (maybe less than an acre).  Utica isnt the only other play we will see in Ashtabula.  It may be 5-7 years, but Ashtabula will see the revolution of Oil/Gas that many other counties are seeing.

Can you elaborate on what your basis is for suggesting it may be 5-7 years before Ashtabula County realizes significant benefit from Oil/Gas development  (similar to many other counties) ?

5-7 maybe very optimistic, given the oil companies are building strategies around a 50 year play.
