I'm a landowner on N. County Line Road.
Are there any private landowner groups forming in this area?
Is anyone aware of any activity in terms of leases actually being bought in this area?
I know that Wish Gard marketed a lot a year or so ago but to my knowledge has never paid any signing bonuses for leases in this area.

Hello Spencer Richman,
Saw your post a little earlier.
No news from our neck of the woods (our land is in the southeast corner of Ashtabula County - about 52 acres in Richmond Township).
Everything seems to be going big guns in southeast Ohio from what we gather.
Some development action south of rte. 6 here in our Ashtabula County - but no results in as yet that we've read about.
Also, there's a well (fractured and resting) in Crawford County Pennsylvania a little east of Pymatuning Reservoir.
The Crawford County Pennsyslvania well and the wells south of rte. 6 here in our Ashtabula County may spur more activity should they prove rich enough / economical.
Just read a report about a well in Mercer County Pennsylvania that nobody seems any too excited about although it did prove recoverable quantities of 'Wet Gas' (which we gather as Natural Gas Liquids and Natural Gas in combination) however no Oil.
From what we've read and heard most of Ashtabula County is in what's been called the 'Black Oil' window of the Utica Point Pleasant, but our land being in the southeast corner of Ashtabula County may prove Natural Gas Liquids, Natural Gas and Oil once developed.
Heard all about Wishgard unable to sell their signed acreage and as a result many landowners not being paid and then troubled with difficulty freeing themselves / their land.
We were tied up with a 'tailgate lease' for a total of six (6) years until finally freeing ourselves / our land back in September 2012.
We haven't (as yet) received any offers to lease since that time and we're working to change that circumstance as best we're able.
Wishing you, ourselves and all landowners in our Ashtabula County much luck and a prosperous future.
Post should you learn something.
We'll do the same.
Joeseph,"NO OIL" I suggest you read Halcons press release for the phillips well in mercer county. They have have been trucking light sweet crude oil out from this well on a daily basis for the past few weeks. Are we talking about the same well??

Here's a link to the report I was reading / remembering Craig.
Still can't find a reference to Oil production within the burp about the Phillips well.
Maybe you have 1st hand info. occurring after the report was drafted ?
Unless you're watching them truck Natural Gas Liquids and not Oil ?
Don't know why the discrepancy.
Then again maybe I'm still missing something within the Report.
Any ideas ?
Keep me honest.
Phillips IPed at 120 bbl/d. That's disappointing but not necessarily indicative of the entirety of the area.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
