I called the Ohio Geological Survey today to request the map that the Columbus Dispatch implied was generated by the OGS (back at the beginning of the month).
They told me that the Columbus Dispatch must have extrapolated their newspaper map from the Power Point Presentation (dated 3/27/12) which can be downloaded from the OGS web pages.
Considering that, it looks to me like the Columbus Dispatch Graphics Department drew their Bold Red Border Line to surround the 'Very Good' and 'Excellent' areas of Utica Point Pleasant Core Area Map depicted on page 28 of the OGS Power Point Presentation.
It also looks to me like the Columbus Dispatch Bold Red Border Line is about as accurate as anyone could draw it.
And finally, it also looks to me 'That things are looking good for Ashtabula County'.
Perhaps that is why RKR Resources is now coming to Ashtabula to bid on acreage.
Have prices reached higher than the reported $1600/acre figure that has been bandied about?
Thanks

Haven't heard about any numbers other than those out of county (that have sold) and Wishguard's 1600.00 (if sold).

Thanks...Hopefully, RKR will bring some higher bids with them

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
