I live in the area and wonder if anyone knows if the well is finally up and running after being tied up in the courts for several weeks. We have 38 acres and signed a lease a good while ago which was way too early I think.Being close to the Ohio border, is it true that it is the wet gas? I have been told both ways.

Thanks for the info. I have seen several gas trucks going into the property and thought I heard it running. I can also see the rig through the cornfield.

It seems they recently have been taking 4-6 weeks per well site, fwiw.  Soon thereafter the fracing  crew tends to  show up. When there is no longer anyone in the booth at the gate(or it is gone), you will know they won't be back in the near future.

I don't think they know for sure what is there, but they highly suspect the whole area is rich in so called wet gas. CHK won't let the cat out of the bag until they are forced to.

They are interested in more than a couple formations, as per the Patterson well of Shell's in Southern Lawrence County, in my estimation.

This should prove to be interesting, but my friend from the area tells me they are shut down for the past few days. Why would they stop after only a week of drilling?

Well, they did break the rig at the Petrik site awhile back, so maybe it broke again. It is anyone's guess, but I can tell you that the worse thing drillers want to see is a rig not drilling.

That's what I thought. I was told that once they start, it's full speed ahead. Do they stop for awhile to cement the casing and then keep going?

A lot of activity around. The big rig was taken down & moved somewhere else today but are still hauling things in. Either my wife or myself pass the well every day.

Does anyone know what is happening to the McRoberts well on Enon Rd.? The rig was up for about 3 weeks and now it's gone.  The guard shanty must be back where he can't be seen from the road [when he's there] but now the gates are shut and no one around. I can usually hear some working through the night, but all is quiet now. They surely can't be done with the well in 3 weeks.

One of your trustees told me that they punched a quick hole, and moved on. They didn't even bother to frac it.

Calla, what do you mean by a quick hole? Does that mean they didn't find anything? I heard that well was for the Utica Gas.

They drilled a well and 1 lateral. Supposed to be back in October to frack it. A lot depends on the ongoing lawsuit. If these folks win, CHK is going to owe them a ton for restoration of the land. Lots of landowners changed their minds and just want CHK to go away from there now and I don't blame them for how crappy they were treated.

The McRoberts site is for Utica and they notified the township they were done drilling a few weeks ago-scheduled to come back in October to frack.

I see they are fracking on the McRoberts well.
