Now that the first well, Mangun 8H appears to be complete and in production, does anyone know what the general process and timeframe is from one well spud to the next?

Missy,

I think several areas are being processed by several different crews each preparing the new well area like an assembly line. The drilling rig was moved from Mangun before frac'ing was even started. And there are a couple of drilling rigs in this area.  The drilling rig operation appears to be the bottleneck, so far. There are many pads being prepared faster than the drilling rigs can bore holes. It all starts with strengthening the local roads. Next, building culverts and water barriers. Then clearing the land. Then setting the well casings and pouring concrete sealing. Then drilling the Vertical Well. Then Drilling the Horizontal well. Then Frac'ing, Then connecting to the natural gas distribution system. If you have enough crews and each step takes one month then one new complete well could be brought online each month. But some wells have not been completed in 14 months while other wells appear to have been completed in just 7 months. With 10 new drilling rigs being added to this area per year for the next four years that means 40 rigs by 2015. And that is just 40 Chesapeake drilling rigs.

Thanks Utica Shale!

The Drilling Rig at the West well (2 miles South of East Rochester in Carroll County) was removed this weekend. I have no clue where it went. The Sanor Farms well pad, in Columbiana County,  appears ready for a Drilling Rig but I do not see any Drilling Rig parts there.
