Did anyone attend the meeting held on March 22, 2012 in Emlenton? If so, what are your thoughts/opinions? I wasn't able to attend that meeting but plan on attending the March 29, 2012 meeting.

Mat,

They stated no deductions on Gross Royalties.

Isn't it time to merely make all landowner group leaders/gas companies aware of your property and acreage, and then tell them to come to you when they are ready to sign and pay...and no lease until then?  When do we stop "turning over" our property to them in a lease in hopes they will resell/market/re-lease?

Why shouldn't we leave our property perpetually open and available to the first that shows up with real terms and money on the table?   Gas companies cherry pick leases anyway.  Landowner groups wouldn't jeopardize their payday by insisting on 100% of bundled properties be leased/purchased if a gas company wanted only for example, 50-80% of them.

A gas company will find you if they want to or need to--even if you are part of a "group" for a specified period of time.  I've been part of three groups with lots of promise but no deal.  Dry gas is dead until the price rebounds greatly and/or a huge market opens up.
