Did anyone attend the meeting on 10/14/2014 in Foxburg at the Allegheny Grill? I'm curious as to what everyone thinks about the lease offer that was presented.

My focus is 4-County ... primarily McKean & Potter in PA with some in Tioga as well.  CX is working for us.   However I've heard that considerable interest has been  shown in the counties you named ... keeping CX busy.  Being so close to Clarion on one side and OH on the other, if there are any landowner groups or individuals like yourself truly interested in learning more about the activity the company is involved in, in these areas, give CX a call.  I've always been able to get honest responses to my questions ... no upfront bull to put it bluntly.

The firm has dbl-digit coverage in counties that finally have positive infrastructure growth, and in the O&G industry this means a lot.

Follow Marcellus Drilling News online to really keep up-to-date, and of course stay in touch w/GMS and its followers.

Ahh makes sense now. Thank you for the clarification Janice

Does anyone know what is going on in Richland township with the gas leases?

I have not heard anymore talk about the land leases in Richland County for some time.  I have found out that Dr. Steffie has signed one with Moutain Laurel and not through CX ENERGY and that they are not the land company that Mountain Laurel hired to get the leases in this area the company is Western Land Services and that they are hAving a meeting in Clarion tonight at the Days Inn and that it is about the same kind of lease (1500 per acre for six years which I think is a slap in the face) I do not understand why other counties are getting over 3000 an acre and we are not even close to that.  I understand that they come in with an offer to see who takes it and if not to many do they come back with another offer (Years ago Clarion County was one of the biggest oil and gas producers now they want us to believe that it won't b the same now) and also that we do not get all the gas off what they get what about the NGL (propane and other gases)

Is Mountain Laurel a "deep" drilling company ... i.e. Marcellus and/or Utica shale?  If all a company will guarantee is drilling w/no specific layers mentioned your deep shale will be sold off to another company, one capable of going wa-ay south.  Questions that hopefully come up @ that meeting should include more than numbers, like how about royalty %'s w/no production costs. Every provision on a lease is negotiable and ALL changes must be initialed by signer ... your copy and the company's.  Really there are hundreds of items to be considered but owners won't hear them all from a land agent.  That's not his/her job. The job is to get landowners to sign. Period.

Counties getting $3000 AC may have better  nat gas/oil than Clarion or neighboring counties.  The quality and marketability are likely not the same.  Resources don't change in those regards, but marketability does.  And YES companies often come back with more bait ($$$ & %'s) when no one nibbles on the first go 'round.  In the O & G industry facts and activity are like jello on a wall ... Always on the Move.
