Was anybody else in the Buckeye Mineral lease group that signed in Feb? The signing was held at an old school near Salem. Anybody from that group get paid yet? How can you tell if your lease was recorded? I live near the Janie (sp?) well in Washington Twp. Looking forward to some $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Permalink Reply by dr j on May 1, 2012 at 3:05pm Matt - it's fairly easy to search the recorder's site for the lease recording. Google Columbiana county recorder and go to the search.
Permalink Reply by Finnbear on May 2, 2012 at 2:09am You'll have to check at your County Recorder's Office to see if a lease has been recorded.

Permalink Reply by Linda Charles on May 30, 2012 at 12:49pm Kathleen, what I noticed from using that site, for transfers of the lease to another assign....like dps to chk the list includes others in a signing group, or other parcels that were also transferred. It confused me too in the beginning. Are you saying the site isnt working right lately? I havent been on it in a while.

Permalink Reply by Linda Charles on June 2, 2012 at 12:54am I went on the site the other day and it seems to be working fine now. Maybe there was alot of people on it the other day.
The problem at the courthouse and with the commissioners is having the records digitized and more readily available. The courthouse is full of young workers employed by the gas companies doing title searches. While your property may be clearly transferred and this is reflcted on the recorder website, others are not so clear. Some properties were transferred not through clear deed but probate actions due to death of the owner, or civil actions, sherrif sales etc. And in some of these cases the mineral rights may have been seperated. The gas companies need to establish that the person signing the lease does indeed have the rights to the gas.
Permalink Reply by Corrho on June 1, 2012 at 3:24am Great job Finnbear, this really helped. It appears my lease has changed a couple of times since I signed in April 2011.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
