A guy I know in guernsey county has 150 acres. the O&G co. wants him to lease his property to them for an injection well. would this amount to more $$$ for him than if they drilled a production well/s?  Have'nt read any #s on what  that would pay a landowner.

This was in the CHK lease that they wanted me to sign:

The right to drill injection wells to dispose of "brine, completion and production fluids, waste water and any hydrocarbon related substances from any source, including, but not limited to wells on the Leasehold or lands pooled or unitized therewith or from properties and lands outside the Leasehold or pooled or unitized therewith, and to conduct all operations as may be required, for so long as necessary and required by Lessee for purposes as herein provided."

All for the sum of $1000 per year total, not per acre per year.

Many landowners signed these leases.  I don't think that they have any shortage of injection well sites.  Your friend may be giving up any chance for gas and oil royalties for the rest of his life.  Part of his land will become a 24/7 industrial site with constant truck and compressor noise.  He may want to visit an operating injection well like the one on RT 800 north of Barnesville. He should consult a good oil an gas lawyer before signing any lease.

IF there is any chance a well could be drilled then NOOOOOOOOO!
