I know of at least 6 dwellings/buildings that are experiencing a constant, sometimes heavier at times, vibration in their homes. These dwellings are located within 800 yds. of the Red Hill Farms well on Rt. 22 East of Antrim. My brothers house is bad enough that it keeps them up at night and the dishes actually rattle in the kitchen.
Has anyone else experienced this? The well has been completed and in production since July 2015. There are no special trucks or equipment sitting on the pad, everything looks normal. Is this something we just have to live with, or is it temporary, etc? Any insights on this would be appreciated

Is there a compression station nearby?

Have you talked to ODNR? Maybe they would be willing to set up a seismograph on your brothers property.
There is one on the West side of Antrim, probably a mile away. But......you could be on to something. Do they have compressor stations on the well pads? I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking at/for....there is some "housed" equipment/engines on the Red Hill Farm pad.
This happened last month to a family on Lewis Road just off of 644 South of Kensington,OH near the Paige Well 5H lateral. They took videos of the walls shaking then called the ODNR inspector who watched the videos. The Inspector went to the Paige 5H Well Pad and asked workers what they had been doing at that time of day that could cause walls to shake in a house nearby. The workers said they had been running a pump.
Paige 5H Well is in a one year Confidential status thanks to the ODNR Chief who agreed to this status from June 2014 to June 2015.
Production should have begum at the well by June but no Division Order has been sent out to the landowners to date. I figure Chesapeake is producing but why follow the law when they aren't making enough money due to well product prices. Besides they would probably have to charge us for taking our well products, so taking them without telling us makes this a FREE SERVICE performed by Chesapeake.
I have my fingers crossed that the lateral collapsed causing the walls to shake.Drilling 1268 feet from the lateral in order to declare "Held By Production" by touching 1/2 acre of a large parcel of land is a violation of Landowner Correlative Rights. They only drilled 550 feet out on the opposite side of the lateral. I call that a LOPSIDED Plat Map. Who Approved this anyway, and why? I know the answer, but will remain silent on this for now.
I agree with Bruce Buck, if Chesapeake isn't going to pay us for what they take, the well products can stay in the ground. $15 an acre per month is not a valid royalty for the volumes of well products being taken in Ohio.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
