A Consol presentation shows their expectations for the sweet spot of the Utica. It looks like Millwood and Oxford towhsip are in the heart of their defined sweet spot. I don't know if this is going to prove true or not, but it sure looks good. Makes me more interested than ever to hear the results of the J Anderson wells.
In this case, "being in a pickle" could wind up being a very good thing!

Most of the leases in Millwood are owned by Eclipse and Rex. I am leased with Gulport but I am surounded by Rex and Eclipse. But I agree that it looks good for our area.
Permalink Reply by scott peterson on September 23, 2013 at 7:10am Just found out a compression station is going in just around the corner from my land in Millwood Twp/Guernsey just over the line in Beaver Twp/Noble. Thinking this might mean alot of drilling in the future may be coming...............

Are you referring to the McClain wells or are others going in in Millwood too? I see that Chesapeake just permitted the Karen wells (4 wells) but they are listed as being in Oxford township. Looks like they will be about 3 miles NW of my property.
And have you heard any recent news on the J Anderson wells? I was by there on Monday and could see lights on a tower (rig?) but couldn't tell what was going on. I haven't heard anything since Rex announced that they were drilling the 5th well back in August. Don't know if they have been fraced or not. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave
Permalink Reply by evan on October 2, 2013 at 10:38am J Anderson wells, haven't heard a word out of it.. I think their being fracked because their taking water from the old reservoir.. Yes I was referring to Mcclain wells. Their drilling two wells to start I guess , thats the two I was referring to. With the possibility of 6 more off that pad so they say..The Karen wells are in Oxford along with the Yockey wells and their going to go with all 4 of those legs to the southeast.. Eclipse is also drilling west of Quaker City, not sure how many wells their doing but thats Millwood also..
Permalink Reply by Philip Brutz on October 3, 2013 at 1:50am We should keep an eye on the ANDERSON CHARLES 1 well. It is just due south of the REX J. Anderson pad and almost on top the MarkWest gathering line. The pad and access road seem to be larger than you would need for a shallow well.

Have you heard anything more about the Anderson lawsuit against Eclipse? The drill pad seems to be much larger than they would need for a shallow well. One of my coworkers was hunting on my land this last weekend and he said that there was nonstop truck traffic going in and out of the well site.
Permalink Reply by RaeAnn on November 14, 2013 at 2:43am We live in Oxford township and we have wells all around us. How do we know if we are pulled into one of these wells? Thank you!
Permalink Reply by Philip Brutz on November 14, 2013 at 2:46am Who are you leased with?
Permalink Reply by Philip Brutz on November 14, 2013 at 4:11am You can keep track of drilling activity around you by using the ODNR Oil and Gas Well Viewer.
Ecllipse will notify you when you are included in a drilling unit.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
