I received a contract in the mail today asking for permission to perform a survey on our farm. As usual, the contract is light on details and not landowner friendly. Has anyone dealt with Global? Suggestions on addendums that are important? We are concerned with damages.

Thought that was probably you. I knew a Carl McAfee in grade school.  Was Ralph any relation? Tom is retired and lives in Ft. Myers, FL.  We'll be visiting him soon.  I'll tell him I talked to you.

Carl may have been a cousin I do not know. Your know Patty has a place in Ft Myers . Do you have your mothers and fathers land rights to the farm on Rt250.Have not seen Tom since he went to Chicago out of high school.Tell him 3 years and we have 50yr reunion. Thanks

HUNTER

DO NOT TRUST THEM THEY ARE LIARS!. THEY WILL TRESSPASSON YOUR LAND WITHOUT PERMISSION. THEY WILL MAKE UP STORIES ABOUT YOU DOING THINGS TO THEM. THEY PAYED PEOPLE IN PA. $6 PER ACRE . THEY TRESSPASSED ON MY LAND WITHOUT PERMISSION AND DENIED IT THEY ACCUSED ME OF SHOOTING AT THEM. I TOOK THEM TO COURT TOGET A CONFIDENTAL SETTLEMENT AND THEY NEVER LIVED UP TO ALL THE TERMS. THIER LAWYER SPOKE ABOUT THE CASE AT A BAR ASSOCIATION MEETING IN HARRISBURG PA. WE LET THEM BACK THE FOLLOWING YEAR AND THEY LEFT THE PROPERTY A MESS. IT TOOK ME ALMOST A YEAR TO GET MONEY FROM THEM TO CLEANUP THE MESS THEY MADE. I HAVE SEEN THE SAME MESS ON ADJONING PROPERTIES. IN MY OPINION STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!!!!!!

Hunter,

Here is my suggestion to you.  First forget about the $5 or $10 dollar an acre they want to give you that is ridiculous.  My thought is that they are driling on your land Correct?  Then they are taking something from your land.  Is this not the same thing these big oil companies are doing?  Then why cant you collect royalties from what they are selling from your property.   They may say we dont need your property for the test or go around you, but the more conclusive test they do the better.  On the other hand I do think this will give you a better chance of getting drilled, for them to contact you about 3D means they already like what is down there they just want to pinpoint areas where the shale turns, thickens and so on.  (I am not a geologist)   Take it for what it is worth. Let me know what other people think.

Guys:

I am a Geologist and trained by one of the best Petroleum Gelogists in Ohio.  I would not sign this agreement for $500-$1000 per 100 acres.  I just cant weigh the advantages versus the access issues and potential property damage issue.  Read the post from Donald above.  He is not the only person that has taken umbridge with Global.  Keep in mind, if you are already leased with someone, lets say Hess for example, than Hess could subcontract a Geophysical survey company to perform this same activity as Global and you potentially get nothing for that specific activity.  But at least Hess has a vested interest in develpment with the Leasee and a long term relationship.  Obviously opinions will vary on this subject.
