Talked to a supervisor with Tideland geophysical yesterday. They are doing 2d seismic from se River rd and then east on Palmyra rd out through North Jackson. Afterward they are moving out toward Alliance then Brunswick O. for more testing.

Looks like Seismic Testing on Palmyra Rd. from NE River Rd to east of  Rt45, Orange Ribbons every 100Ft or so with every other one Orange & White. So what does this mean?? Are we getting close to drilling time??

2D testing at all of the flagged locations, it goes all the way into Canfield and out 46 to Columbiana. They said the testing was to better pinpoint the oil for future development, he said he didn't know the clients name.

All the cable and sensors are down on Palmyra Rd. and there were 6 Big White All Terrain Trucks (Thumper Trucks??) with Highway Patrol escorts at Palmyra & SE River Rd. this afternoon at 3:30PM. I saw the same trucks with HP Escorts on Rt.14 in Ravenna on Monday.

How soon till they start drilling??

Yep they were thumping, out there again this morning. Drilling is TBD, TGC said this seismic work was for the client to determine where they would prefer to drill in the area nothing set in stone as of yet. Alot of the acreage by 534/Ellsworth rd is still un-leased at this point from what I understand

Does anybody know what the orange flags are for on st rt 534?   Showed up this week.   Also what's going on off of rt 45 north of calla rd?  Heard lots of earth being moved.  Thanks for all the info you guys provide!!

gas line going in right down rt 534

Lynn,

I think they were marking for additional seismic testing on 534 although they tested the rd last year in early summer. I don't recall the  company name surveying last week but it was o/g related.

Update on the little orange flags on 534.  They start (or end?) where 534 ends in Geneva On the Lake, paint markings in the middle of the road and don't go east or west.  Followed them south, they go to 62 east then south past the damascus sale barn.  Continue south on half a dozen side roads and come out on rt 9 and continue down 9, in hanoverton they cross 30 and go to 644.  That's where I stopped following.  All these flags are numbered with pavement marks and numbers every 10 marks.  Makes pipeline seem most likely especially since seismic tests were done last year.  Whatever they're doing they better hurry up or they're going to have to replace all their flags-they were mowed off in a lot of places.

They just retested all the way up 534 through Newton Falls. I spoke with the company people doing the work and they told me that they were retesting as the data collected last year by a different company was done poorly and was being redone.

Heard that and saw the thumper trucks two weeks ago.  They've flagged a bunch of other roads for testing also.  Funny because last year all four of the 'thumpers' were pulled off the side of the road South of 305-one had apparently broken down.  This last crew didn't seem to take nearly as long testing as last year's.  Just hope they find good news!  Thanks for the reply.
