Today Carrizo Oil & Gas announced that it is entering the Utica Shale Play by way of a Joint Venture with Avista Capital Partners. There are 15,000 acres involved and Carrizo is paying $1,500 per acre for ONLY 10% interest. You do the math. What would the value per acre be for 100% interest?

The interesting part is that Hess hasn't drilled any of the six initial JV wells that they are supposed to this year. I wonder what the hold up is.

Read where T. Boone sold all his stock in Chesapeake yesterday.
Sounds like retaliation for no action from legislators / D.C., on his idea about formulating a domestic Energy Plan beginning with Natural Gas Conversions for the eighteen wheelers.
He said he didn't like natural gas and sold.
He also said it wasn't because of McClendon's transactions.
Maybe he's taking a Pro-U.S.A. position on developing more natural gas for export.
Would like to know more about these ins and outs and what's going on between his ears about natural gas on the overall conversion front.
Hope he's not giving up.
The pickensplan.com had nothing to say about it yesterday - going there now to see if there's any more news.
Chesapeake is having a conference call Monday morning to discuss their new $3 billion loan, and other issues. If you can't listen in, there will be a taped playback available later in the day. See the link...

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
