EnerVest Holding On To Ashtabula County Leaseholds (At Least For Now)

Just read this article attached to another post under General Shale Discussions.

Looks like EnerVest is holding on to it's 22,000 acres of leaseholds for now with the option to swap or sell later still on the table.

That to me translates into more delays

Anyone have any updates on Enervests plans with the leaseholds they held on to?

However...its just announced...Hess decided to divest itself of Ohio's Utica play...they are heading back home...but with hefty profit on its sale of east Ohio gas play......all sold to Aubrey McClendon's new upstart

Hess is not heading home or out of the play. They still are drilling Consol Energy joint venture acreage wells in the wet gas window. They are spending $550 million in 2014 to drill utica wells.

That is correct... I believe they still own a percentage of some 80,000+ acres in the Utica, partnered with Consol Energy in their drilling efforts. Much of what they sold was in the "dry gas" areas, and their purpose for doing so is simple: Narrow their concentration to oil/wet gas production.
