There is going to be a meeting on Thursday, February 3, 2011, from 6-8pm at the Jefferson County JVS. Bob Rea of the Associated Landowners of the Ohio Valley group will be talking about the benefits of forming a landowners group here in Jefferson County. ALOV currently has a total of 30,000 acres and is in negotiations with three oil and gas companies. There will also be topics such as having an independent third party to hire an outside company to test your water so that you, the landowner, will have a documented baseline in the event that your water becomes contaminated. We will also be discussing land title research that large companies perform when leasing your land. There will be free copies of the lease used by ALOV and all are welcome to have a copy.

There is no cost to attend this meeting. Refreshments will be provided. It is sure to be informative for anyone in the Ohio Valley. If you have any questions regarding this meeting please feel free to contact me at 740-264-4466.

Hi Billy; I own some land in Ross County, out by "State Lake" area.  I have lots of questions as I've been contacted by Chesapeake for gas drilling.  Is it possible for you to talk with me a bit on some of this?  Please let me know if I can call and best time.  Thanks.
