I've been away for over a year and not followed what's going on in the county. I've been looking for the Friendsville group (which I was an add on too) to catch up on things. I can't find anything about the group after early 2010. Can anyone tell me what's going on with it?           Jack

Have you noticed the roadwork?  Convoys of Water trucks and rigs,  looks like things are moving forward area-wide. Was that a new rig i saw from the Tall Pines fairways?
I'm sorry. Was this in reply to my question about the Friendsville group?

I would also like to know what happened to the Friendsville group.  Did Fortuna sell out to Tailsman, and why don't they send us a notice?

Seeing this thread pop up reminded me...I have nothing to do with the Friendsville group directly but was talking to a rep from WPX some time ago. She said she didn't think that WPX would renew a lot of their Friendsville group leases because they'll be too expensive. As I said, I wasn't in that group so didn't write down what she was saying concerning them. Just throwing it out there as a little more info for those who might be interested.

As to what happened to the group...Don't landgroups dissolve once the leases are signed? After that the gas companies can trade or sell your leases as they see fit so your common interest is past. And yes, if Fortuna sold out to Talisman you should have been notified. Lease transfers have to be recorded at the courthouse so there should be something on record there if it happened.  Maybe you could call them and ask if a lease assignment has been filed.

After doing some research, I believe that Fortuna (which is based in the USA) is a subsidy, or sister company or what ever you call it,  of Talisman (based in Canada). So they neither sold or changed thier name. They operate under both names. At least that's the way I read it.

Is Talisman doing anything in the Friendsville area?

Not living in that area,,, all of my info comes from what I read. And what I recently read, was that Fortuna as well as most of the oil and gas companies, have moved most of their operations to the wet gas area, which is west, toward ohio. Dry gas is selling so cheaply that it's not worth drilling for. The wet gas has to be refined and therefore can be sold for more.  Again, this is what I have read mostly on the internet. So take it for what it's worth. There are many web sites that have info on well permits and who's property may be in a unit. So far, I'm not in a unit. My property is in Forest lake.

What websites have info on who's property may be in a unit?

It will take me some time (As I'm not home for a few weeks) but, eventually I'll post some sites for you to check out. I found all of my info on this site from reading other posts. There are many links to explore.

Fortuna Energy Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Talisman Energy Inc.)  changed its name to Talisman Energy USA Inc.

I too have a friendsville lease, I am in Brooklyn township, we have well here but not sure when things are starting up.

can I ask when the friendsville lease runs out?
