Permalink Reply by Henry J. Cittone on January 21, 2011 at 7:58am That's what Chesapeake told us..if you don't get unitized before the lease expires....that's why they are drilling the heck out of Auburn (I was at the meeting at Elk lake and one landower put that theory forwards and Chesapeake's landman just sort of smiled and said of course we will act in our interest)..scuttlebutt is that there are folks with expiring leases in Auburn, and we all know these were signed for a lot less than the newer leases.
If someone could give people an idea abotu what the rough range of royalties per acre is that would be excellent..as a royalty stream of a unitized well I suspect is more than the bonus payments at the height of things...I know we got a scam offer from some shady lookign company for $55K to sell our potential royalty stream on 11.9 acres....so I can only imagine what a royalty is worth on that land. I tried to do some numbers based on the well next to us, but I admit I am new at this so I won't post my numbers in case I messed up the calculation.
