My wife and I dtopped ay a local tireshop to have a spare tire repaired. We had been there only a few moments when this huge dump truck pulled in behind our vehicle. A young man got out and went inside. He was looking for a gas well site. He had a load of stone to lay down on the site. He could not find the well. He had directions but an important information had been left out. The tireman and the trucker were looking over a county map. But it was unclear just where this well site was. It was on a back road but access was not the best. My wife spoke up to to say that I probably knew just where that well site was. I was not quite sure but if that trucker wanted, he could leave his load there and I would take him to the place where I thought was his destination.
He was agreeable and we started. We easily found the road he was looking for. But there was a bridge that was under the weight capacity for his truck. We continued along a narrow, almost cowpath like road for a mile or so. We found his well site. But then he needed to know where he could come in from a better direction. We continued on and found a cross road. There was a steep hill on this crossroad but he said that he could "Pull it" ok. Anyway we took him back to his truck. He told us that a couple years earlier he had his truck up for sale. But since the marcellus shale play, instead of selling his truck, he bought another one.
We saved him much time and chasing around back roads and possibly crashing thru an unsafe bridge.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
