Will I be contacted when they start drilling?
I want to get my water tested before they start drilling. I have saw where people track permits on the DEP website. I tried this but couldn't figure out how to tell which one referred to my property. I have also saw where people get a certified letter saying they will be starting to drill. If you are in a marcellus shale gas lease will you be contacted prior to drilling?

Hi, I think they test the water for you if you are sure that your getting a well and they should test all those folks in your grid..However I think testing prior to them testing is of huge importance. Are you sure you are getting well? Yes you will be contacted.

The well will not be on my property. I think I had read that they test water within 1000 feet of the well. We leased maybe 3-4 months ago so I don't know that they are putting a well in anytime soon. When we leased they talked like it would be soon but I know that doesn't really mean anything. I want to have my own test done because I dont know what they will test for if they do.
