Most leasing is over with but those of us who still have unleased property can expect to be approached sometime in the next few years. Some company WILL want it.  They are busy swapping properties they already control now- each company trading, selling leases with other companies in order to set up their best drilling units of contiguous acreage. I live a couple miles from you and have had offers in the past, that were rescinded before we could accept. Then there are the latest companies like Kimble's Red Hill - that wants everything - your ponds, streams. wells, for fracking and dumping if they can get away with it. You have to be VERY careful about ANY and ALL lease offers. Ethel, you really need to speak to someone on the landowner's side, and not every attorney is. Be careful too of those who want to outright buy your mineral rights, before they are leased. You lose control of what happens to your land, and they will be making far more money off your minerals in the long run. IF you are a Senior Citizen, there are also considerations to take too. There is a free meeting where you can learn more, this Thursday at Hampton Inn in Philly, call 304-748-3200.  Either way, Ethel, don't try to do this alone - you need professional representation or at the very least, a good and knowledgeable friend or neighbor to be with you throughout any offers.  If you can afford to wait 3 to 5 years, the best offers may be yet to come. If you need money now, then please be careful as there are a lot of schemers out there ready to take advantage of you. Ask for help on this forum, take notes, and when you know enough to feel confident in negotiating a lease agreement, or have confidence in your attorney (who may work for as little as 5% of the lease signing bonus and NO % of the future royalties)  THEN make it known (via the attorney, forums, phonecalls to drilling/leasing companies in the area) that you have unleased acreage. Patience is the name of the game.

thanks for the info,i will keep this in mind

Sit tight and wait.  If/When they need your arces, they will find you and you'll have a better chance of getting the best deal then......not now by chasing it.

In mean time....read/listen/learn all you can about it.

I had to go to PA today and went down 800.  North of Tipp...the pad seems to be active.  there a 3 big holding tanks and fire coming out of 2 vertical pipes.  Lights everywhere..... any info on this??  like why is there fire coming out of the pipes?  Flags for pipelines are everywhere out that way.

BEEN DRIVING PAST THAT SITE ALSO GOING TO CLENDENING LAKE TO FISH.  THERE ARE TWO LEGS DRILLED THERE ACCORDING TO MAPS.  WOULD BE NICE TO KNOW THE NUMBERS ON THESE WELLS.  ALSO LOOKS LIKE LOTS OF PIPE LINE ACTION GOING ON UNTIL THE HIGH WATER HIT.
