For all you need to know about Vortex Energy LLC,go to GMS and search "Historic failure" . This will bring up a thread explaining that Vortex Energy LLC was formed in June 2013 and like DUX appears to be a shell company with no assets, no financials, no ability to drill wells, no history of having drilled wells, and no equipment to drill wells. The thread will explain how companies like Vortex obtain leases and how they have the potential to steal millions of dollars from landowners when they flip the leases for higher bonus money and for an enhanced royalty percentage. Indeed, companies like Vortex have no ability to pay landowners even the agreed upon bonus money until they have flipped the lease to a real O&G company. There are many real Oil and Gas companies such as Antero, Shell, EOG, Chevron, EQT, and many others. It is prudent to lease your land to companies such as these. Leases in favor of Vortex were promoted in Ohio by Attorney John Wells, and SOEC, after the leases he and SOEC promoted in favor of DUX were not paid.  Vortex has little credibility in Ohio which is probably why  Vortex has chosen to concentrate their efforts in West Virginia.

Talked to a lawyer in clarksburg and he mentioned about vortex and many suits getting filed.

To find out about the  failed Vortex Energy LLC scam that was attempted in Ohio go to search box on GMS website and enter "Historic failure tries" but do not put quotation marks around the entry. This will bring up the thread with multiple entries. The information and posts are detailed and they are scary. The address that Vortex Energy LLC provided for the location of their office in Texas was totally phony. This company should not be confused with other companies that are legitimate and that have the same or a similar name. This Vortex is a Delaware corporate entity formed by 4 guys from Ohio on or about June 21, 2013. I have heard Vortex has signed up thousands of acres in Pleasants county, Tyler county, and in Wetzel County. I have grapevine information that a number of the landowners are supposed to get paid today. I doubt that will happen.

in a now deleted post Bob asked what the names of the representatives of Vortex Energy LLC were. It took conversations with several landowners who attended the meeting to piece together the information.

As nearly as we can tell the representatives of Vortex Energy LLC were:

Gary Lancaster – President and CEO – we think he is based out of Houston, Texas

Scot Evans – Geologist – from Byesville, Ohio

Bonnie Cunningham – it appears that she is a landman / title searcher, based in Ohio and PA

assuming this is correct, i am just posting information found in other places..hope this helps

Josh: Thanks for posting additional info from other sites about Vortex. I believe that Northeast Appalachian Land Service is nothing more than a company that searches titles. Troy, Pa is in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, and in 2000 the population was just over 1700. Bradford County has had a huge number of horizontal wells drilled there but none of them were drilled by Vortex, which, as I stated previously is nothing but a zombie corporation with no substantial assets, and no ability to drill. I have attempted to find a phone number for Vortex Petroleum, LLC: but without success. If you read the thread that you refer to about Vortex, you will find that the address that Vortex supposedly had in Texas was phony. Thanks for posting what you learned about Vortex to this site. I have a source that told me people in Tyler, Pleasants, and Wetzel Counties signed leases in favor of Vortex and that thousands of acres were involved. I was also informed that none of the leases have been paid.
