Hello folks,

I just got a letter from Caffey Group in Ft. Worth, TX, asking if we are interested in leasing our land in Sandycreek Township. A quick Google search shows news of a lawsuit against them in TX. Anyone know anything about them or anyone else been contacted by them? The letter references the Utica.

Thanks

My thoughts are, this is the worst offer in the history of oil and gas (very slight exaggeration). Specifically, the royalty insult.

what was the offer?

Matt did you end up signing with them?

No, We did sign, but not with Caffery. Think our contract was more landowner freindly then Cafferys

If you are able to say w/ whom that would be great. We are weighing our offers and any guidance would be appreciated.

I specifically asked him who they were leasing for, and he told me no specific company, but it was a short phone call.   Maybe face to face, other information would have been said.   I also asked him if they acutally do the drilling, he said it depends but they do have drilling rigs.

Things I've heard about Caffey are the same as everyone else posted. Caffey is mysterious and seems like a flipper. There is a group forming for Venango County, the link for the meetings is here:

The attorneys did the Mt. Jackson Group lease with Hilcorp that covered parts of Lawrence and Mercer Counties.

Tina: Can you give us what the terms of the Hilcorp contract for Venango county are?

Please give us the entire lease...it shouldn't be a secret.  I heard that many of those leases were not going to be paid.

What leases will not be paid?

Do you mean you heard the Caffey leases won't be paid or the leases done by lawyers from Washington Co.?

BTW, when we did not answer Caffey's calls, they mailed us a lease to look over. Not interested.

The Washington group, though, seemed very informed and did outline what seemed like a favorable goal.

Curious what others have heard/know about them? Or other landowner groups?

Hilcorp will pay all signed leases.
