Any land groups being formed?

I keep hearing I should join a land owners group. I am not from around the area but a while back I bought 40 acres in Eastern Vinton County on US 50. (almost in Athens and Meigs) Is there a group I can talk to or how do I find a land owners group? I have been contacted by Knox Energy to lease.(very very cheap) Can anyone help me with any info of where i can Go to look for a landowners group that may have been formed? I dont live in the area (3+ hours away) so any info on whats going on would be great!

Hi Paul, I am not sure of any groups being formed, would also like to find or create a group.  I hear that there is a group that meets in Athens county, maybe we could start a group? When did they contact you? Where abouts is your property? I figure they may be getting close to me, some people around me have been contacted, but not sure by who.

I have Property (40 Acres) on US 50( Knox twp.). Its located next to the sweet and easy camp ground. Or about 5-7 miles from where 32 comes in. I am about 2-3 miles from Athens and Meigs county line

There is a gentleman by the name of George Ledbetter, that will be holding a meeting, either on the 21st or 22nd of February.  I will get more details and let you know.

I have spoken to Clif Little today and the meeting is a must.  My family owns land in Vinton Co. and I am too interested in a landowners group.  Has anyone spoke with Gene Engel, with all the land he owns?

Has anyone heard or seen any seismic mapping going on in Vinton County.  Seems that most of the county is immature shale, non-producing.

I have 62acers just a tad west of Mcarthur....wondering whats goin on since the meeting in Mcarthur,i wasnt aware of the meeting at that point....

Derrick I dont know of anything on the west side of the county. But I do know a land group I joined that was taking land to the extrem east side of the county. My land is about 1-2 miles from Athens county meigs county lines.
