So apparently the above link doesn't work...but if you go to the Monroe county site you should be able to read about it.  I read the post and Hess is offering 5200 per acre for the first 3 years then 5200 to extend the lease 2 more years 20% gross royalty....and they aren't leasing the marcellus, so that assumingly means a landowner could also lease the marcellus too in a different lease.  Wow! Apparently it's being offered to all Monroe county landowners that are eligible.  It's encouraging to watch lease prices climb.

I don't think that was a real Hess lease.  Hess is based in Houston, and that one had a Colorado address.

Looks like they pulled everything off this site about that lease. Sounds like a lawsuit to me.

I suspected that wasn't going to pan out well. No reason for them to go so high. I also didn't think every landowner was going to get that deal, they would just have their pick of which they would lease.

Maybe a way of drawing people out and finding out what was still available there without having to spend any real time or effort researching? I bet they got a lot of leads from that one posting.

Curious.

Too bad from what I'm reading this turned out to be false.  Just goes to show you really have to be careful, who you put your trust in.  When money like this is involved there are bound to be shysters out there.
