- I'm a long-time geologist in the O&G / Energy industry. As such, I spell fracing like I just did, and not with that wretched "k" the stinking media uses, as there is no "k" in fracturing!! I've been a lifelong steward of the industry, and am particularly an advocate of the natural gas portion of the industry since the advent of the unlocking of this country's unconventional reservoirs beginning with the Marcellus Shale, in the interest of stimulating our economy, lessening our dependence on oil, as well as, improving our environment by lowering our carbon footprint. Yes, the Barnett Shale was first, but when the Marcellus riddle was solved, that opened up the rest of the unconventional reservoirs in this country and elsewhere which was a true game changer. I am quite disturbed this country is not doing more to promote natural use through the increased manufacturing of NGV's for the general public and expansion of the NG refueling infrastructure, which would obviously create a manufacturing economy again and lessen our oil consumption. Where is this country's energy policy to do just that??? Both the Obama and Bush administrations failed to do this. NOW is the time for change before it is too late.
