- I have encountered many landmen and have talked to landowners within the Marcellus Shale region. Landmen are slick, want alot for little. The landowner must become educated about the Marcellus Shale first, then proceed with caution and be willing to negotiate when dealing with landmen. Landowners I have encountered, for the most part are uninformed about the potential value of their mineral rights. To become informed, suggest contacting a County Agricultural Agent for information about attorneys and available seminars about the subject.
