AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |

We were just contacted again by Chessapeake about some of the Wetzel County land on Brock Ridge. They want us to sign the Modidication (nine months ago the offered $100 to each of us. Now they are offering $3400 per acre to sign)
Also, they have a platform built with 3 wells producing and want to start a new one. I knew something was going on down there.
Finally, he said we should contact Columbia Gas. They probably owe us storage fees.
Let me know if you have been contacted. - Denver
I hope you are enjoying the summer. I was wondering if you have heard anything concerning the Wetzel & Marshall Co land. Also, maybe you could help me figure out something. As you know the leases we receive shows # of total acres, but not# of people on the lease (56 acres but know indication of how many share). Are you aware of how to determine that from the info on the lease? Or if we can find this info somewhere. I might try calling CHK. Denver
Matt,
An interesting thing happened today concerning the Wetzel county property. We are buying some rental property so we gave the bank all our financials. It wanted us to provide the name of the land owner so I called Wet. Co. Assessors office w/ tax ID# and explained why/what I needed and was RUDELY refused, called a liar and told I needed to get a lawyer to obtain the info. I said it's public records and again was told "Get a lawyer" Do u think they are hiding something (maybe drilling already happening? )Denver 330-339-3964 or email gallentine@roadrunner.com
Matt, I saw the envelope in my car's back seat this pm. I put it there to take to the post office. My daughter is buying a house and I've been arranging home inspections, new furnace quotes, a structiurl engineer (it's a 100 year old house),etc.thus explaining my absentmindedness. I'll send it Monday. On another note, I was on the phone w/ CHK Monday. They are setting up a drilling pad this summer on our Ohio property. I asked about Marshall & Wetzel. No to Marshall, but said, "We have a lot of plans for the Brock Ridge area ." He was looking @ our lease @ the time. - Denver
Matt - Good to hear from you. Yes, Agnus Sole was my wife's mother. She was born Agnus Williams, married Bert Truex and had five children in Moundsville. Years after his death she married Sam Sole. My wife, Sandy Truex-Gallentine graduated from John Marshall in 1971. Did you inherit mineral rights in Wetzel or Marshall Co. (thank goodness for such smart ancestors)? Have you heard of any activity around the land? - Denver
