Earlier this week in Oneonta, New York, Otsego County there was a public information session on the Williams Constitution Pipeline proposed in New York and part of Pennsylvania. There were several people there looking to learn as much as they could about the pipeline and the Williams representative found out quickly not too many people know the specifics of the pipeline. This prompted him to review a PowerPoint presentation discussing the pipeline regulations, route and leasing in depth.
The presentation discussed every detail of the pipeline thoroughly. To begin with, the Constitution Pipeline will be regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The pipeline will run from Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania through New York, connecting two other pipelines, the Iroquois and the Tennessee, totaling 121 miles in length. The Iroquois will bring natural gas to the New York City market and the Tennessee will bring natural gas to the Boston market. There will be one compressor station and two metering stations making the pipelines maximum capacity 650 million cubic feet per day of natural gas.
Williams and Cabot Oil and Gas have set up a great website with information and videos explaining the pipeline and process at constitutionpipeline.com. You can view the videos below, as well.
