An independent attorney reviewed the Antero lease as proposed.  We signed at $5,200/20% with no changes for 20 acres. If anyone needs an attorney name, I'll be happy to provide it.  The Turner landman was responsive and has excellent followup skills.

We are the ones on Pfalzgraf Ridge Road.  They did sign us up and we received the signing check the day we signed the lease.  Throughout all of the meetings we asked if it made a difference that we were on the other side of Monroe County.  We were assured that it did not matter and that we would get paid the same as the rest.  Everyone who was in the first signing (which we were), and if there were no problems with your deed (which there is not, we had attorneys check it out ahead of time), would be paid.  A month ago, our property was brought up in a discussion with Antero and they said that we would be paid.  If they had no plans of paying us, they should have been honest with us from the beginning or at least when we signed the lease agreement.  During the negotiation period, our property was brought up many times, and it was all the same response that it did not matter, there would be no cherry picking and everyone would be paid.

The Turner/Antero leases are good leases, but they are not true to their word about paying on those leases.  We signed with them at their first signing in February with the Northwest Landowners Group and were promised that everyone who signed at that time would be paid.  We attended every meeting (at which I had to take time off work to do), hired an attorney to make sure our deed and title was all good and that we owned our gas and oil rights, handed them 90% of the deed research, and signed with them in good faith that they would keep their word.  They asked for an extension, which they took.  There is nothing wrong with our deed or rights, and yet we recieved a letter yesterday stating that our lease expired and that we are not getting paid.  They are releasing us from the lease.  In the meetings, they said there would be not "cherry picking" and yet that is what they have done.  They have no legitimate reason for excluding us from getting paid.  So be wary if you sign with Antero.
