Don't know anything much about South of the Ohio River, sorry.

Gary,

Thanks for the 411 on the leasing in southern Beaver County.  I haven't visited the Beaver County recorder's website in a while.  Sounds like there is a lot of leases being recorded at the courthouse.

Good to hear.

Todd

Nothing new here, Gary.

I just checked the Beaver County website and according to the website there has only been one recorded lease since January 2014 in all of Beaver County.  That was with CHK and the property was located in Independence Twp. for whatever its worth to you.  I am not believing the rumors of signing new leases b/c the recordings don't back up the rumors.  I would love to wrong btw.  They may be renewing leases for a second term but that can not be confirmed.

Just remember it appears to take up to 3 months before the co's officially file the paperwork with the County.

Cattlerancher,

Congratulations on being wrong!!
You need to look up the "Memorandum of Lease" not just "Lease" in the search options on the recorder's website.
For instance, there have been 311 Memordams of Lease in Hanover TWP and 69 in Greene TWP by Range since 1/1/2014 til today and they keep on leasing and recording as we speak.

Total of 935 Range leases in Beaver County (southern) since 1/1/2014.

Thanks, Todd
On the other hand, I see that CHK has been releasing a handful of leases in Greene TWP since last year.

What is everyone else finding on the recorder's website???

Todd I have talked to a few folks in green twshp and they have sizable pieces of land ..CHK has just been sending them checks to renew their leases...and their leases have any where from 6 months to a year to go..I know that there are many more CHK leases in the area that have 2 yrs to go ..CHK was active for quite a while back when they were in the area..RRC has also leased some sizable pieces as well..it appears to me that the leases are all in the same general area...I'll keep my ear to the ground...Also I'm going to the Northeast Gas Industry Summit in Pittsburgh tomorrow..hope to hear something worth reporting...oh I have not looked at the recorders web site..

Gary,

Here is the link to search the recorder of deeds:

http://www.beavercountypa.gov/recorder-deeds/recorder-deeds-online-...

Too many Memorandums of Lease to view but the townships RRC is leasing corresponds with their presentations and you have them listed in the header of this discussion.  Also, Craig is right -- the courthouse is about 4 months behind on recording.

Sounds interesting tomorrow... Enjoy it!

Todd

Community efforts always seem to pay off.
Thanks fer the info as well!

Gary,
Did you learn anything new and of interest at the Gas Summit?

Thanks, Todd

On 3/11/15, I attended a land owners meeting with a representative of Range Resources.
At that meeting, they said that they were top leasing (renewing) current leases in the southern part of Beaver County. They have contracted with Mark West to supply gas for Mark West's new Fox Facility Northern Loop Cracker Plant, which is being built near the intersection of US 22 and Pa 18. Southern Beaver County and western Allegheny is what Mark West is referring to as their Northern Loop.
Since they have a commitment to supply a stated amount gas for the plant, they will be drilling in our area, and need to secure the leases for longer term planning. The drilling is waiting on the plant and pipe lines to be installed.
They will be in contact with current lease holders, but are not expecting to add new leases, unless the area is absolutely critical.
