Recently this group has a bunch of new members but still has very little activity. How about ALL members sharing what they know is happening in Belmont County. Have you or any of your neighbors signed a lease? Have you or your neighbors been approached with any lease offers? Do you know of any landowner groups in Belmont County? What issues have you had to deal with in this process? Is anyone looking a pipeline right-of-way leases? What terms do you want in your lease when you do finally sign and why? The more information we share here with each other, the better prepared we will all be when we do sign leases and cash in on the mineral wealth under our lands in Belmont County.

PS - I am participating in the Smith-Goshen Landowners group, a landowner based, non-profit group. See http://hcolg.org/HowItWorks.html for an explanation of what a landowner non-profit is and how it works.

I leased with Gulfport and am satisfied.  The landowners group worked out well and payment should be forth-coming.  Five years will go fast and I'll get my second payment for the extension.  Hopefully they won't drill until by grandchildren inherit the property.
Bernie,
Which landowners group did you go with?

We met at the Union Local Middle School and signed our leases the beginning of July.

I don't know if it had a name, but there were a lot of people.

Thanks,

Is that the Rokisky attorney group?
Yes.  It was Rokisky's group.

Finnbear,

I am also participating in the Smith-Goshen Landowners group, a landowner based, non-profit group.

We are starting to see more solicitation mailings from non-landowner "for profit" organizations and groups. These had slowed down earlier in the year,  however I am now seeing a full court press.

All indications are that prices are continuing to move up.

What is the contact number for this group?
I live in Union township. I recently signed with Gulfport through an intermediary called Patriot energy. I got $2000 per acre & 15% royalties. Already, I heard gulfport is buying directly offering $3000 per acre with 16% royalties. I figured the price would go up but not in a months time by 50%. As you can imagine I feel somewhat disappointed but thats the way it goes. Hopefully Gulfport will be drilling around here in a year or 2.
They have announced that they will begin drilling in the area in 2012.
I have  been seeing where alot of people have signed with someone. My question is, have you or anyone received the signing bonus and if so, was it all up front?
The "up front" signing bonus is generally paid to the lessor in 60-120 business days after the lease signing. This gives the lessee time to vet the property by doing a title/mineral rights search. NO oil and gas company is going to just pass out 5 and 6 figure checks at signing time. Too many people go to lease signings only to find out later they didn't really own the mineral interest they thought they did. The people who have signed recently will begin receiving their "up front" signing bonus money a few months from now - IF they own their mineral rights.

Does anyone know the facts on how the Attorney Ed Sustersic / Colerain group will get paid? Bonus in full within 90 days of signing or???

Thanks
