I heard, today, that Chesapeake has been "chased off" by Nider and that he won't let them back on his land to drill the second well.  He is supposedly very angry with Chesapeake for "ruining his land".

I also heard that he is filing a lawsuit against Chesapeake and that his first royalty payment for 60k is being held in escrow pending the lawsuit.

Does anyone know if this is true and, if so, why the lawsuit?

It could be a sign of things to come.

I heard it was Rexx Energy disguised as Chesapeake and that it wasn't $60k it was only $400 bucks and they were trying to make an oasis but palm trees don't grow very good here.

What could be a sign of things to come?  Neighbors spreading rumors and hearsay?  Thats been going on ever since church let out.  You know where he lives. Go ask him.  He may even be in the phone book.

Your new to this site, its not affiliated with the National Enquirer.

Please accept my profound apologies, Your Highness.

I'll be sure and contact you the next time I need a lecture.

I mistakenly believed the gomarcellusshale.com tagline "All things pertaining to the Marcellus & Utica Shale".

And, by the way, the Nider well is a CPK well and Rex has nothing to do with it.

Your appology should be directed to Mr. and Mrs. Nider and Chesapeake.

And I believe you have the ability to delete this whole discussion you've posted.

Apologize for what???

I think it is very important that we landowners know about any damage done to the property, both above ground and below.

It is also important to know and keep track of CPK's response to damages done.  If it requires a lawsuit to correct problems, then we know that there must be very close scrutiny of the Utica developer's activities so that any improper behavior on their part can be "nipped in the bud".  Having had six gas wells (Clinton) developed on my Portage county farm, I can tell you from experience that the O&G companies will push their "rights" to the limits whenever it can benefit their bottom line in any way.

All of these issues are a matter of public record.  And, if true, all of them are of important interst to the landowners of Carroll County.

Larry,

" ... I think it is very important that we landowners know about any damage done to the property, both above ground and below..."

Exactly WHAT has Chesapeake done wrong?

 What evidence do you have?

" ... All of these issues are a matter of public record. And, if true, all of them are of important interst to the landowners of Carroll County ..."

Since YOU are making the accusations on a public forum the burden of proof that your gossip is based upon facts is your responsibilty. You have not provided any facts, yet.

Did you get  this information directly from Nider or is this just hearsay?

Larry,

" ... Chesapeake has been "chased off" by Nider and that he won't let them back on his land to drill the second well... "

I find this very hard to believe considering that Chesapeke has a private driveway directly from SR-39 to their well pad so there is no way that Neider can "chase them" off or keep them off of their well pad. Also, there is no permit for a second well on that property. So, Neider is not preventing any drilling.

" ... He is supposedly very angry with Chesapeake for "ruining his land" ... "

With an accusation like that you need to be very specific.

 WHAT exactly did Chesapeake ruin?

I personally went to the well site - It is a very nice looking well site.

"... I also heard that he is filing a lawsuit ..."

Did Neider file the case in Carrol County Court ?

If yes, then what is the Case # and what exactly is the claim?

There  Baaaaack ???

 FEB 2nd ...

Chesapeake applied for three permits on the Neider property in Washington Township !

Could this be the same Neider property ?

Yes, same property.

Is this the Neider  property your your talking about?

Did his son have any interest in the property where he could sue?

I do not know.  The presumption around here is that he has sour grapes for what his dad did but it is his dad's farm.  If that is a fact, I do not know.

It will be interesting to see how that pans out.
