Has anyone heard what is happening in Delaware County, NY? We are nowhere near a watershed. When is Chesapeake going to begin drilling in this county?

Soon Wolfie, soon!!
How soon?
I just joined this forum last night. I am a member with the CNY , my property is 8 miles from Cannonsville, at the same time looking for an update to the NYC watershed drilling status.
There will be no drilling in the watershed areas. Chesapeake bought the rights, then signed an agreement to never drill on them. This essentially protects the watershed areas from drilling forever. It's ironic, because Chesapeake just did something NYS never did, protect the watersheds from development.
My family owns 126 acres that border the acutally pipeline (right of way) in Hancock, NY. We haven't even been approached for a lease. Does anyone have any knowledge or ideas how we should proceed?
I think that time has passed.
I understand that ExxonMobil is now in the game; having bought out X TO! Some of the bought leases are in Deposit NY. I realize that Chesapeake is committed to not drilling the the DRWS; however, according to the state, that doesn't mean that drilling will not happen. We are waiting for the gsGEIS from the NYS DEC. Does anyone have any information on when it should be released????
All the chatter I hear about the sgeis being completed is June. The DEC is working hard on all the public commenst and hope to finalize it soon. I think we are very very close, so hang in there. Our best bet also is that Govenor Patterson stays in office. The state is in fiscal crisis, and he is for drilling as a way to help get the state out of it. If they chase him out of office, no way will a temporary Governor lift the ban, all hopes pinned on Patterson, boy I never thought I'd say that.
